Mahatma Gandhi said, “Be the change you want to see in the world.” So when Kanya was founded in 2004 under the wings of KRPVT, the goal was to embody change in all aspects for the world by empowering the future.
And how do you empower the future leaders?
“We believe education to be the greatest tool of emancipation and empowerment that can be bestowed on the youth for a bright future. With every event, Kanya strives towards a society where every girl child is educated, respected and heard,” says Nishi Kapoor, Founder of the Chandigarh-based NGO.
Kanya Girl Child Welfare Organization has been committed to stand and work for the girl child’s overall empowerment, be that in Education, Health & Nutrition or Safety, since the last 21 years.
EDUCATION
Being the most powerful pillar in the foundation for a bright future, we believe Education to be the solution for ridding the society of all social evils stemming from illiteracy and outmoded notions. Kanya Welfare Organization works every day to help children acquire foundational literacy, life skills, and socio-emotional skills.
HEALTH
Working to achieve the mission of uplifting the mind, we also acknowledge the importance of keeping one’s health in check through ensuring food security and balanced nutrition. Kanya delivers dozens of purposeful health and nutrition workshops to enable school-age children to overcome the effects of malnutrition.
SAFETY
A child’s safety is vital to their development. Every child has the right to live free from violence and abuse. Through our work, we want to empower, uplift and protect children from different forms of abuse and harm, including child labor, and all forms of exploitation, be it physical, emotional or sexual.

Through well-planned and comprehensive projects focusing on health, education, livelihood, women empowerment, and disaster preparedness and response, Kanya aims to uplift special and underprivileged children from social and economic shackles.
Our Mission
Our mission is to mobilize and motivate non-school going children, between the ages of 6 and 14, from economically and socially backward rural areas of India, and put them firmly on the track of literacy through quality primary education.

Our patrons embody the spirit of generosity and empathy that fuels our organization. With their unwavering support, we are able to reach out to vulnerable communities, provide essential resources, and pave the way for a brighter future by actively delivering knowledge, power, and support by organizing dozens of purposeful workshops/events.

Kanya Tuition Center
With a mission simple yet profound: to empower every student with the tools and knowledge they need to reach their full potential, the executives at the Tricity NGO took to the streets of the neighboring slum areas, conducting surveys, collecting details to curate a perfect learning hub for the interested children.
A total of 80+ students were intrigued by the initiative and got themselves enrolled in the program. Volunteers from different backgrounds join our CSR Executive, Diksha Sharma, every day, and impart their knowledge to the budding personalities.
